Dear Sherwood– Thank you veryunderlined much for the introduction to Paul Rosenfeld. He invited me out to Westport for lunch and we had a talk about the musical piece. What a charming man he is–how utterly unaffected and "unscholastic" for a man of such erudition! I was completely taken with him–I hope I may see him again. As to the musical piece–maybe it will get done sometime–right now I am job-hunting, with damn few dollars between me and a park bench. I am glad you are painting–saw one of your things at Rosenfeld's–as I believe I wrote, your pictures often bear an astonishing affinity to some of the best things being done now in the really remarkable "Rennaissance" of painting in Germany.
