Joe came on 7:00 car. 7 male persons to lake on picnic. went to Monroe cottage where Marion & Nelson have been for a week. good time. Keyes Nelson & I walked up beach past Lake Breeze to iron bound banks. Rain after 3 p.m. Marion & Nelson home with us. Thurs 4 a.m. we all picked & picked over beans peas for dinner. Then to hill lot. fixed a plot for strawberry plants. hoed potatoes. p.m. took " " up there & set them out. then hoed potatoes Eve. prayer mtg. Fri Aug 5 Ethels Wedding Anniversary a.m. hill lot. kids hoe potatoes I set over oats. p.m. kids W & I " " " I laid tile drain in basement of barn eve. killed 3 hens & helped dress them. shut up more young roosters. a.m. sold 9 roosters to Laundon $2.30 John & family to Oberlin a.m. back in eve.
