It is Sabbath day. Rev. Mr. Eddy gone to Mass. Deacon Meeting! Old Deacon Dresser frightened me summat over he called upon Mr. Metcalf to come out before the great Congregation, (being a rainy day, it warnt awful big though! and read the sermon. Howsoever it would not do for the Master to be bashful, if his knees did tremble! However they all said I preached better than the Deacon some, I suppose when one writes a letter, it is necessary to tell the news. - Well Miss Eliz. Greely has got home, from Portland! Miss Carey & Miss Cushing & Miss Bradford & Miss True & Miss Bates etc. etc. etc. are at home, & probably are well! By the way, it is a little interesting to be an entirely uninterested spectator, and witness manoevering among Old Ladies sometimes! However there are certainly some very fine young Ladies here, and Miss E Greely is certainly one of them! So is Miss Grey, & So is ----etc. so also.

My School is first rate, but I suppose I bored you enough with account of that in my last. Yesterday was no school, page torn? loafing day. In fortnight I am going to Brunswick  one day, when school is 1/2 done, get 30,00 enough then too, pay some debts.
 You dont hear from Milo very often, I dont hardly at all, have had one letter since I came here, but they had not written for so long and there was so much to write, they did not write half.  I know not till your letter whether Ann was in Bangor or Boston. Never knew of Charles driving steers to Bangor. You had not informed me of that other thing or of any thing else, that had taken place since about July sometime, & Worse yet nobody else has!  Why should G.W.B. Butters be disappointed at Georgia?
