Thursday July 1st 1875.

It has been damp and rainy all day. all of us well, the Upholsterers will finish our work to morrow, Mrs Hilton called to see us. Jamie came up and spent the day with us. He is staying with Belle. I am trying to have our house set in order as it has been all upset by workmen, Mrs Henry Keep and Mrs Peck called to see me, Mrs Barter spent a day here when I was in Louisville.

Friday July 2nd 1875

This has been a damp day. all of us well, I have had all my pictures hung up and every thing put in order. in Mr Angell, s room and mine, also in the babies. Mrs Stites? Stiles? Burton & Mrs LeGrand Burton called to day. our workmen left to night, Mr?s Wily called to night. after supper Mr Angell and I went down to see Mrs Harvey. her two children Robby and baby Belle have the whooping Cough. Ada gone again to sit for Eva,s picture, for the Hair and lace. James Faulds had to come to my house to stay on account of the whooping cough. he has not had it, we fear Eva,s dear little babies may take it as baby Harvey was with them.

Saturday July 3rd 1875.

It has again been very damp, all of us well. we have been busy changing furniture in our rooms, and at 12, O clock, I had Mrs? Nicholson and Lenn bring down the twins into their new Nursery. they are doing well and gaining flesh. the oldest is a little heavier than the other, she weights 9 1/2 pounds and the other weighs 9. a large package of papers came from David to day with a piece of Poetry about Eva composed by Col Nunes, it is very pretty. Mrs Potter Palmer called to day. The twins are well and pretty.
