Wednesday Aug 12th 1863

This has been a very lonely day. Ada quite unwell with fever and headache. I went riding with all the children. and took the Duffields with us. who were spending the evening with us. then returned and went with Virginia and children to see Mrs Hilton. returned late. Mr Badger gone to Mrs Flints party. I did not go.
