3-A pencilled in left margin: Jan 19 1842

Wednesday 19th. We made Antigua - passed between this island & Guadalupe - San Montserrat. 20th. ahead of Nevis, got sight of St. Kitts, St. Eustache & at 10 am St. Taba ? N by W. 8 miles - We paddled over Avis shoal in 6? shoals plenty of fish - All the islands seen as yet are have high rugged peaks & of a dark colour - particularly Nevis. The West indies lands are thrown as the Antilles & the Colombian archipelago they are divided into three parts by the Great, & little Antilles & the Bahama or Sucayo isles & belong to
