56 1675 About the fifth of february a petition from the wamesit indians (Living neare Chelmsford) was presented to the council, by the hands of Jerathmiel Bowers (one of their Guardians, - the purpose whereof was, to desire earnestly that they might bee removed from the place where they were, declairing they feared to stay words crossed out because (in all prability) other indians would come & doe mischief and it would bee imputed to them & they should suffer for it, the Council answered their petition that they would endevor to remove them speedily, But their was greater delay about it than was intended, by reason of divers other momentous ocasions intervening;
