71 ?oth composition of the dramas represented, it was indeed very low comedy. 15th. V?ted the springs that form San Pedro creek, the waters gush out in great quantities from the '?tton limestone' rock which said rock appears limestone of the interior. Fossil shells of the Ammonite & other species are said to have been found in the San Antonio river. Some twenty five miles from San Antonio there are very extensive sulphur springs which are in considerable refuts? for scarbutic patients, the principal spring bubbling up with such force, & although very deep, a person throwing himself in can only sink up to his waist.

The majority of labors or small lots of land around San Antonio, full of weeds. In former times they were in a flourishing condition. An Emigrant having one or two labors say of 50 or 60 acres could farm all he needed & graze any quantity of stock & sheep on the adjoining prairies & upon the very best pastures.
Money is very scarce here, even the Curate is obliged to receive for his different duties, cat? corn, &c which he barters for what he may require.
