For the feast of Saint Bernadino Da Siena Celebrated by the Confraternity of the Antiquarians of Rome Sonnet Dedicated to the (most)Eminent,and (most)Reverend Sir Cardinal Fra' Lorenzo Lauria In instance of the Confraternity itself.

The Saint while still a Child cried his heart out

while reciting  the Hail Mary facing an
image of the Holy Mother.

In his beautiful Years to embalm the Flowers Of Etruria the Holy Hero thrilled the Plants; So that a wandering Zephiret The Stars animated with the infant Fragrance

When the Child contemplated of MARY In tremulant splendor the Golden Countenance And showing at that time a Giant Soul He could of Joy make Horrors horrorize.

Expressing at the end in lovely accents The Angelical Greetings while in the bosom of Flora Flowed out from the Stars the dewish Silvers.

So his Weeping arose a sound Eko; He opens the Streams of Wet Dew Who goes among Flowers to HAIL the DAWN.
