Aug - to the Colonel and there we tried to hold a confab with them but could not understand each other very well. However we learned that they belonged to a large party of Crows that were camped a short way down the river: That they were friendly and wanted papers &c. They were well dressed and the finest looking indians that I have ever seen. They all swam over the river and came up to camp. It was truly amusing to see them crossing the river.
