49 April. Every ? boat that has come in from N. Orleans brings Volunteers, & unfortunately not having Mexicans to fight with, have commenced fighting amongst themselves - Several serious 'difficulties' have been the consequence - It was then found convenient to allow them to go to Corpus Christi to defend ^if necessary^ that part of the frontier should it be attacked - 7th - To day there was a "Battalion Inspection" in Galveston ? of the 'Fusiliers, 'Coast Guards', 'Galveston Guards', &'Artillery' we had merely ^to our hearts content^ [unclear] ^[unclear]^ Review by the [Lieut.
