Everybody stopped to exclaim & enquire where we had bought them. A lady & gentleman had sunburned themselves all day & had not caught a single fish. The first night I came here I was sitting alone in the parlor wishing I knew the nice looking girl at our table; when she came in the room, & sat down by her Mother. "There" said I, "she will stay there all the evening, & there is no chance of my knowing her for I would never dare to speak to her first." I had just settled it, when I saw the young-lady hop up, & come over to me. So we talked & were good friends directly. | ||
