10th. Left for Columbus on the River Colorado. Some 18 miles of low prairie, with the timber of Buffalo bayou on the right; forded the bayou (creek) During & after heavy rain these creeks are not fordable & in some parts of the low country what with the water in the bottoms Swamps & creeks the roads are rendered impassable for weeks.
