last though - Ever since my return, I read in the papers that many changes have happened - all for the worse. then last month I was sent to Strasbourg for the conference between American confressners? and members of the European Assembly - the only interesting thing I've done for 2 years at the Agency - It was rather amusing to see how bewildered your representatives were when the Europeans wouldn't be persuaded to unify. It was so very evident that here, nobody, not even those who say they do - is as afraid of a war as your people are - When the American delegates said the danger is imminent, the Europeans said yes - But if they were sincere, would they be so particular about the means to save themselves? (But of course I never wrote anything of this to my Agency)
Well dear Jack this letter will take my best greetings to you and your people. Let me hear from you when you have a moment. Bien cardialement a vous S. Chenneviere
[Best regards to you]
