         It must now be borne in mind that the seven cleansers, or exorcisers, and the chaunter after Gowah Hymn, are both outside of the National Heptagon, simultaneously engaged in their respective duties.
         To return, then, to those who first went out, the seven cleansers, or exorcisers.
         The leader of the seven cleansers or exorcisers, followed by the others, walked around the National Heptagon; and coming to the treasure, or store, house, west of it, they lashed the eaves of the roof with their rods. The leader, then, putting his rod over his shoulder, went to another house, imitated and followed by the remaining six, in single file. On the way, the leader commenced singing as before, so as to bring his chaunt always to a close just before reaching the point to which his course was directed. Thus they proceeded, till they had struck with their rods the eaves of every house within the metropolitan town; after which they returned, raced around the National Heptagon as before, and again struck the treasure, or store-house, roof; ___ then,, singing and responding as at first, they re-entered the National Heptagon,
