Camp near Fort Sedgewick February 5th 1867

My dear General I received your letter of the unclearunclear. Today I was going up Lodge Pole Creek?. to look at the ground?. unclear unclear soon to make-ing my Camp on that unclear some three or four miles from its mouth. I am told that I can find a more sheltered postition than this - in that direction - my Present Camp is one the north side of the platto? just opposite Fort Sedgewick. + is much exposed to the winds?.
