1839. Sept: 6. continued. The Judicial Power shall be vested in a Supreme Court and such Circuit and Superior Courts as he National Council may from time to time order and establish.- The Judges of the Su-preme and Circuit Courts shall hold their commissions for four years; but any of them may be removed on the address of two third of each branch of the National Council to the Principal Chief for that purpose. They shall re-ceive at stated times a compensation which shall not be diminished while they continue in office, but shall re-ceive no fees not perquisites of office, not hold any other office of profit or trust under the government of this nation or any other.- No one shall be appointed Judges of any of the Courts, until he shall have attain-ed the age of thirty:- the Judges shall be elected by the National Coun-cil: They shall have complete crimi-nal jurisdiction in such cases & in such manner as may be pointed out by law: No Judge shall sit on trial of any cause where the parties are connected by affinity or consan-guinity, except by consent of the parties; and if all the Judges happen to be interested in any cause or related to any of the parties, the Council may provide by law for the selection of a suitable number of persons of good character and knowledge, for the determination thereof; and who shall be special-ly commissioned for the adju-dication of such case by the Principal Chief. - The Supreme Court shall, after the present year, hold its session annually at the seat
