Sunday Aug 8th 1875

This is a beautiful day. all of us well, I went to church with Mr Angell, then returned to dinner and after dinner Mr Angell and I went out to the Cemetery and took a beautiful Boquet out to Eve, and I put some on Mary Virginia,s bed. we then returned home, I had the babies out to ride and then to walk.

Monday Aug 9th 1875

This has been a very warm day. all of us well. I put the babies in seperate rooms, and they slept so much better then I sent them out to get the air, and it seemed to do them good. Mrs? Hilton called to see me to day so did Dr Locke, I went out to get the air about five O,clock with Mr Badger Shreve and Hunt, we rode on the Boulevard, Oh if Eva was only here to go with us how happy I should feel, but now I cannot enjoy or smile at anything. I wrote home to Pa and Ma to day. Ada wrote me from Saratoga. they all well. Ellen Scanlon came to see us about her Husband, he has got himself in trouble by drinking, and he is now discharged from duty as a Policeman, Mr Angell out riding, he went to Hyde Park,

Tuesday Aug 10, 1875

It has been raining all day and still continues to night. we are all well, but have not gone out to night the babies are growing nicely. Mr Badger and Shreve gone down street in the buggy, Mrs Nicholson grew very angry with me to about the cow, she insists we ought to have kept the Dunne Cow after it had been sent away, but at the time she did not think it so important
