College of Delaware Newark, Delaware. January 7, 1883

Dear Miss Everett Although your name is a familiar one to me, and your family one of which I have heard frequent mention, I am, myself, in all probably, not so well known to you. I am the youngest of the children of Mrs Jane Everett Therwood, who is, if I am not mistaken, a cousin of yours. I have been extremely interested in the editonal work, of which, I unclear from time to time, heard my mother speak, as unclear now under your direction.
