December, Wednesday, 30. 1863. Commenced raining in the night & has rained nearly all day. Read a letter from Sister Sarah. Rec'd an invitation to Genl McArthers on New years Eve. Have written to Wells. No news & every thing as dull as can well be imagined. Recd a Washington Paper of this 16th. Just had a call! Queer Times!!
