1839 Aug 9, continued. family, living near Judge Dan McCoy's saw John R.Nicholson & his family at Judges McCoys on the 13th of June; where & in the neighborhood he remained until Saturday the 15th, after breakfast, when he departed as Williams understood to visit some relations on Bayon Menard; and he again saw him on the Tuesday evening following, with his family, at Judges McCoy's from which place on the Wednesday following he de-parted for his home.- Joseph Coody, a white man, with a Cherokee family, residing on the Bayon Menard, Cherokee nation, on Saturday the 15th of June saw John R. Nicholson who in company with his wife & children, rode up to Cody's gate, at, he supposes, between twelve & two in the afternoon. They were on their way to Mr Bevert's on the Bayon Menard.-Eleanor Bevert, a Cherokee living on Bayon Menard, on the afternoon of Saturday the 15th of June was visited by John R. Nicholson with his wife and two children; and they re-mained there the nights of Saturday & Sunday and left on the Monday follow-ing after dinner, for Mr Schrimscher's, Besert , a white man with a Cherokee family, living in the Cherokee nation on Bayon Menard, saw John R. Nicholson on Friday the 14th day of June, at the Council Ground at the Double Springs; & the said Nicholson there informed him that he would be at his house the fol-lowing evening with his family. Be-vert did not return to his home un-til Sunday morning about ten or eleven, when he found John R. Nicholson & his family there; where they remained over that night till the day follow-ing, when Nicholson, with his family, left, after dinner, for Martin Schrim-seher's on their return home.-
