Friday June 25th 1875

I have not felt anything like the heat since I left Louisville, Hunt could not sleep. Mr Angell had nightmare. all of us well. My Mother is better and is up and dressed. A dispatch from Louisville scratched out Chicago says that Mrs Geo, Pullman had twin boys to day weighing eight and nine pound a peice. She and babis doing well. It is so strange that both Mrs Angell and Mrs Pullman should have presented to them twins. my very dear darling child gave up her life for hers.

Saturday June 26th 1875.

It has poured rain all day. all of us well My Mother better and up. it is still very hot. my dear baby Mary Virginia has been taken up to day and her iron Casket put in a new box and wonderful to tell her face and form is in perfect preservation. I have not been out to day. but Mr Angell had. James Faulds is all ready to go home with us, at eight we left our old home and said Good Bye to all, Jamie is with us, we travelled along in our State room untill twelve O. clock at night when we changed Cars, we met Melville Wendell at the Depot, he has been to Louisville, it still pours rain, out little Casket was carried up in our Carriage

Sunday June 27, 1875

It still rains, we rose in the Car at seven O. clock was a little behind time, did not arrive untill eight met at the Cars, Mr Badger, Shreve, Ada, Mattie Faulds and Tommy Shreve, found all our family well. all of us walked up to our house, but Mr Angell and Mr Badger, they came up to our house in our Carriage with the remains of Mary Virginia our little baby who died nineteen years ago. had her Casket placed in the parlour sent for Dr Locke to say prayers and Mrs Hilton Mr Badger & Sister, at two O. clock Mr Harvey and Belle and Mr Badger went out first to have her grave dug. by Eva
