I should be so glad, it seems to me, that I would never murmur again at anything if I only had my Eva by my side, how sad, how stark, how, dreary everything seems. and yet I must not complain, but pray for strength I feel so ill in my heart. I have sent Ada [note left margin: Chains Pullman]] to drive with my Hunt and Mattie Faulds to get the air, Mr Angell came up to supper. he talks of going out of the City for a few days. Mrs G.M. Pullman sent the twin Angell beautiful chains & lockets. Mrs Henry King came to inquire after the babies & myself. I went up stairs to night for the first time to see the babies since their birth, my heart has been too full to go up before. Mr & Mrs Kearney and baby came up to see us to day.
