November Wednesday 18 1863

Another lovely day Rode up town in the forenoon__ Seen but little & learned less__ Remained in camp the balance of the day doing nothing__ Pay Master did not come to day as expected think he will pay tomorrow

De. Horton got off today__ [unclear] S_ X_____ Thursday 19 Another pleasant day though cloudy & threatening rain_ No news & no excitement- [Been news?] in full blast & I trust will be a good thing for the Regiment__ Pay Master did not come as we had hoped__ Rec'd a letter from Friend Davis Read & Slept some & have some expectations__ E , a XX 1-- Friday 20

Cloudy and a little misty all day Been a busy day as the Pay Master paid the Regiment to day Recd my pay $390.40 less the tax $8.71 Bal $381.69 Have now on hand about $490.  Rec'd letters from Sherman & one from Sarah & Eunice__ Felt very well today considering__ no news from any where
