WD 10 We wish from our whole hearts, that God may make an end of this War, by which we have suffered greatly, not only in our outward living, but much more in our religious way of living, many of our People having been scatter'd by the War all over the Country, to Missisippi, but we thank God our saviour, that he he preserved us, & directed our hearts to abide by his Word, to hold fast to it, until our end, we are also thankful to this Government, where we are now, that we have been received, and Protection was granted us, after we had once m ore tried to force our way to our former settlement on Muskingum, without effect, we love to live in Peace with all Men, and concern ourselves about War, as little as possible, which we will shew forth on all occasions, and our sincere wish is, that by the help of God, other Indians also may be convinced, that a peaceable Life is the happiest, we are glad that some of our People have seen you at Detroit, and had some Conversation with you, we send our hearty thanks for your kindness, and good will towards us in our present want, that you have furnished us with Provisions to the Amount of one hundred dollars, which we acknowledge as a testimony of your former Love and Friendship towards us,which you have shewn on all Occasions, all of us, Men Women and Children recommend ourselves to your kind remembrance & likewise to our friends your Congregation at home, please to remember our sincere Love to them, wishing you health and success in all your undertaking, especially in the great work to promote Peace, we remain in Love your friends & Brethren, the Christian Indian Congregation, & in their name the head men of them, Samuel Stephen William Henry Joshua Peter Ignatius
