note top left: Mr Angell New York 28 Wednesday March 24, 1875. note top right: Belle better. This has been a lovely sunny day. Belle spent a better night, and is this morning better. And food now had a little taste to it. She can chew a little. Her mouth and tongue is not so sore. She is very weak and don't yet sit up in bed but I think will soon. Mattie Faulds wrote her a letter. Mr. Badger spent a while here this morning and this afternoon, Eva spent morning. Hunt and Rob came to see us. Mrs. Kelly and daughters came to see Belle. Thursday March 25, 1875. This is a mild lovely day. Belle much better, she spent a very pleasant night. I think she will soon be up. I slept in her room last night. Mr. Badger came to see her soon. Miss Kyle is sewing up at my house today for Belle. She is done with Ada. Friday March 26, 1875. This is a beautiful day. Belle feels better, but very weak. Not strong enough to sit up but for a few minutes at a time. Eva called for me to go to Mrs. Hopsons to get her a new bonnet. We spent an hour down town. Mrs. Harvey sent me home in a hack at ten o'clock as Belle was better. Mrs. Hilton better but very weak. Saturday March 27. This is a beautiful day, all of us well, Belle a little better, I went down in the Buggy at eight O.clock. At 12 she complained her head hurt her and fell asleep. When she awoke she was better. Mrs,. Wheelock & daughter called to see Belle. Eva and Hunt came down at seven O.clock. Mr. Badger Eva Sheridan Shreve. Tom Hunt and Robbie all came down to Belle Badger Harvey's birthday party. She had two cakes with a White wax candle in them, Ice Cream and Cakes. And a great many presents. Our Louisville relations all sent her beautiful presents. We had a good time. Maggie the Nurse girl gave baby a canary bird in its cage. Sunday March 28, 1875. This has been a beautiful day. All of my family well. I went to Belle's house and found her no better. She suffering from a pain in her head, it continued most of the day. Eva and Mr. Angell called, so did Horace and Sophia. All my children gone to our Sunday school to the Easter festival. Mrs Angell gone tonight to New York. I went again tonight to see Belle. She better.
