i.e. Who is a truly wise man, & can discern t true mode of trying his religion, by t fruits he bears - let him not deceive hims., but show out of a good conversation proceeding fr. his heart that his heart is made a sweet fountain of spiritual grace. But says he "if ye have bitter envyings & strife, in your hearts, glory not, & be not agt t truth. This wisdom, descendeth not fr. above, but is earthly, sinful, devilish. For where envy & strife is, there is contention & every evil worth. A heart wh. sends forth envying & strife as its streams is proved to be a bitter fountain, & it is of no consequence for persons to call thems. christians. This wants he to lie aags against t truth, & such have no cause to boast & glory in their religion -
