Sir: in view of his long service on the frontier and distinguished services during the war, we, the undersigned members of the Arkansas delegation in Congress, recommend that promotion of Colonel B. H. Grierson 10th Cavalry, to the grade of Bridadier General U. S. Army, and request that this letter be placed on file in the War Department with the recommendations heretofore? made for his advancement by the delegations in Congress from Texas and other states.
