Friday July 10th 1863

All well but Sheridan & Ada - they complaining this morning - received a dispatch from David ordering home immediately his young man Perry. I received from Louisville the childrens swiss tucked dresses and blue berege? ones. I had them made there. children invited to night to take tea with Lily Harmon.

Saturday July 11th 1863.

It has turned very cold, and looks like rain. we are all well. but Nancy the cook. she has Dr Bartlett attending her. Mr Perry took tea with us. children gone down town.

Sunday July 12th

Again it looks like rain or snow. it is quite cold. we are all in health. Mr Badger gone to Sunday school and church. Pa out walking. I will write home. the Ransom family are here for a few days. Louisville again in danger. they are fortifying the city. Father Badger was here Florence, Hutchings, Brackett Wm Haskill & Mr Gerish. also Mr Schaffer of New York. after dinner Mr Badger went out to his Fathers.

Monday July 13.th

I cut out to day the childrens blue berege? dresses - at one O.clock Miss Mary Bowson of Louisville with Mr Woolfe called to see me - also Licinia came in - at two my Father proposed our going to the Circus to see the Hippopotamus. we agreed and went my Father Licinia Hilton. Belle Eva Ada Sheridan Baby & Nurse Ellen and myself - we were pleased - the animal is horribly ugly. Licinia came home with us to tea - Mrs Burton & Miss Burton called to see me. after ten Mr James Miller called to see me.

Friday July 14th

To day has been warmer. we all in health. the children went down street this afternoon. Pa has gone to the Theatre to might. Mr Badger is at home.

Wednesday July 15th 1863

Again a fine day. I went down street with Ada to day first time for several weeks. went to Mrs Herveys and bought Sheridan a pretty suit of mode coloured Marsailles braid with black. also went to my dress makers. My Father intended to leave to night but concluded to remain until to morrow. after ten he and I went to the Theatre to see Mr Warren. Mr Badger and children went out to the west end to see his father.

Thursday July 16th

To day is very fine - I after dinner got all the children ready and Pa and I went out to Cottage Grove for a ride Mrs Rogers & daughter called to see me, also Miss Rice. at seven O.clock my Father left for Louisville and Octave went to New York. in the morning at eight O.clock all of us went to the Depot to see Mother Badger & Aunt Lizzie also Horace to to Rock Island. Mr Bigelow spent the evening with us. Eva commenced? music from Miss De Pelgrin
