The United States mail passed us to-day - on a mule - with a Mexican or Cow boy for rider. The old mail sack looked as flat as a pan cake - or some like as after Elephant have trampled on it. I judge that there is about one letter a month carried by the mail which runs between Fort Davis & Fort Stanton New Mexico. Perhaps we will all conclude to write - when we get to Black River & fill up the Old mail bag for once. I hear that there is a Post Office near Black River. Wood is very scarce in this section of the Country.
