Thursday April 30 1863 Another beautiful day. We all in health. Mrs Wheeler called and Henry Wheeler sent me his photograph, made a little tissue dress for Mattie Shreve. Mrs Bunch just called to say that Mr Smith wanted us to move tomorrow, but we cannot get our house until next week. Mr Hunt called after tea. Friday May 1st 1863 This is a very bright lovely morning. after breakfas Mr. Smith had a bedroom and parlour sett moved into our house and expected to move in himself, but we could not give up this house until we get possession of Mr White's , which we have rented and will go into house on friday. after seeing Mr Smith for his furniture, I sent downtown to do some shopping for David. returned at one o'clock and arrenged everything for you Grasshopper club, at nine they came and we had quite a crowd. enjoyed unclear very much. so did every one. had nice music and a good supper. I and my servants did not retire until 4 o'clock in the morning. I fixed a lunch for my Brotherinlaw Mr Faulds to take with him in the morning. Mr A.D. Hunt was one of my guests. Saturday May 2nd After breakfast I had the house nicely cleaned then Belle & Eva went out and invited about thirty children here. they came at seven, danced by the Pianao, and seemed to enjoy themselves. I gave them a nice little supper. They all went home at eleven. Corbin Ariana and Octava assisted me entertaining them. I went out walking with Mr Hunt in the afternoon. My brother Mr Faulds returned to Louisville at seven this morning. Sunday May 3rd More beautiful weather. I did not go to church. Only Mr Badger went after dinner. Mr Bigelow called for Mr Badger to take a drive with him. Mr Hunt called and spent the evening Monday May 4th Again I seat myself to add a few lines in my journal. It looked like rain all day. we all in health. children at school. I and servants have been very busy all day house cleaning. Mr Hunt and Guthrie called for my husband and they all went out to spend the evening with Mr Honore. I learned from home of the death of Mr Abraham Nite of Louisville and old and mch respected citizent - 63 years old. Tuesday May 5th It has rained all day and at times snowed. We have been all day packing and cleaning. We are unclear through. unclear Hilton took tea with us and unclear Wednesday May 6th It rained last night and if sunny this morning. We all well. at half past nine Mr Badger and I went to Alexanders Whites Auction at the house we have taken, we stayed until two. Mr Badger bought a few carpets, he came home with jeadache and went to bed, did not to to office.
