Wednesday April 15th 1863.

This morning it rained but now it is clear. we are all busy to day making preparations for the Sewing Society this afternoon. they came at three -- and sewed untill Six. there were twenty five sewing on fancy articles for a fair, that is to be for the Unitarian Church -- after tea we had a band of Music, and a large number of the Congregation young and old came in -- we had many young ladies and Gentlemen. we danced untill ten O.clock -- then we had supper for the crowd -- we had a nice time -- Ella stayed all night with us --

Thursday April 16th

It is a beautiful day -- Ella went home after breakfast -- Mrs Tuttle and Miss Emerson came to see me -- at five Mr Badger came for me to go and see Whites house on Wabash and Hubbard Court. we returned home too late to go to Depot to see our relations off -- Mr & Mrs Hilton & Ella, gone to Louisville.

Friday April 17th

Again it is fine weather -- I wrote home -- and will go shopping to day -- went to the Office and Father Badger took me to see his portrait, Mr Honore took dinner with us -- children all well out playing.
