My dear good Wife 

   I thank you a thousand times for your promptness in answering my letter. I was so anxious about you that I was almost sick. I have also taken a severe cold but I am getting over it. I should have written you a long letter Sunday how I felt well. I could not have gone home the last of last week, if I had tried or at least it would not have been safe for me to have attempted it. I am getting better now & shall be with you Saturday Evening unless Something detains me more than I now know of. If I am unavoidably
