Dear Jennie and Anna,
I hardly know what to write. My heart is sad, and I feel that yours are also if you have received name? letter. Can it be, can it be that our darling Lizzie is dead? Ah, yes, I saw her die. I saw her bright, beautiful eyes set in death; I saw the faint strugle,- and her poor weary body lay cold and still,- and her soul went home; home to Heaven, we earnestly hope. I never saw any one die before.- death does not seem so awful to me now. O, it seems to me tonight that if I knew I was ready to go and God was ready to take me. I could lie down joyfully and die. To be always pure and sinless, - to go home to Jesus, may we be prepared for this when ever our Lord shall call. But how awful,
