Sat. Morning, Jan. 28 My dear Sister,

Sarah has been a little better and brighter since I wrote you yesterday Though very weak. Dr. W was here this morning, - he says he does not think she has changed much since he was here before (Tuesday). - he says she has wonderful vitality. - has promised to see her again the first of the week. She had another hard time coughing and raising in the night last night - but did not vomit this time. We got the air pillows all right - and find them very nice and comfortable. The expressage [ex/message?] was paid- - did you pay it; or Mr. Askin?? We rec'd your second letter last night. J. G? is going to Remsen after dinner, and I write this, lest you may fail to hear by today's mail. R. V. L. and baby have gone to Utica today. R.. with the horses, and the rest with Jane in the cars. I told the Dr. about your indecision in Utica about coming back - he said he was sorry for you - J? and had hoped that you could have staid longer. I think he does not blame you. Anna
