This is my reception day - I saw miss Eva & Miss Walker- Mrs L.A Smith. Mrs Cobb Mr Connery & Mrs Peck Mrs Daniel Thompson & Miss Ward- Mrs Brandon Bureley Mrs Clarke- Mrs Bently- Mrs Reutter Miss Reutter & Mrs Turnly- Mrs Burton Mrs Isham- Mrs Tureman- Mrs S.A. Goodwin & Miss Goodwin Mrs Dudley & Miss Cunnigham Mrs Charles unclear Mrs Updike & Miss Skinner Misses Harmon Mrs Heywood- after ten- Mr Badger Octave & myself took a hack and went 6 mils to Mrs H.C. Stone,s party - I sent my regret to Mrs Dunhams

Friday Jan 30-

This is a good day- Ella took Florence home- Mr Bigelow & Mr Ward called- we received invitations to day- to a party at Forsythe- one at Mrs P.G. Adams and one at Mrs Goodridge,s after tea we went to the Sherman house to see Mrs Field- they had a dance there and we stayed untill eleven- I danced in my cloak & bonnet-

Saturday Jan 31th

Good weather- I went shopping - children went visiting- called to see Mrs W Sturges- Mrs Flint Mrs Thompson. Mrs Field & Mrs Thomas- after tea Mr Badger & I went to a Temperance lecture- delivered by Goff- Belle went too-

Sunday Feb 1st 1863

This is Sheridan,s birthday- he is four years old- we all well- I took a Carriage and took Mr & Mrs Field to Mr Thomas,s church- the children went too- it is cold to night - Mr Badger gone on the west side to the Union meeting- Octave not well-

Monday Feb 2nd

To night we are invited to the mite society at Mrs Adams- Mr & Mrs Field are coming to our house to play Euchre- they came and we played until twelve- we all well- I went down town shopping Belle. Eva & Ada went in a hack to a party at Mrs Dunhams dressed in white tarletans and wreaths on head- white kid gloves Mr Badger gone to church-

Teusday Feb 3rd 1863

This has been a lovely day- but cold- I went to dress makers to have my magenta merino dress fit trimmed with black fold braided with white arranged my party dress and went to Mrs Goodridge,s at nine O.clock. wore white shallic trimmed with blue- spent a delightful evening danced all the time-

Wednesday Feb 4th

It is very cold & windy- we all well- received a letter from home Ella Badger came in and stayed all night. we went to Mrs Millards and spent the evening- danced some- Ella & Octave & Belle also went- it snowed in the night-

Thursday Feb 5th 1863

It snows to day- we all well- they are cutting the Ice in the Lake and carrying it off- received party invitations to Mrs Daniel Thompsons for next Thursday- Mr Field left town- Mrs Field still, home, Mrs Fassett,s party to night
