Wright Mt. Washington July 6th 1849 Mr. N. Kendal Dear Friend I have not rec'd a letter from you since you left hear and have not heard from you only by a letter written to Miss Weed by her sister stating that you and your sister had arrived safe at home the day before she wrote. I have nothing of importance to write to you. I and my family are all well and the health of the village has been good since you left, we have had no case of colery here and none nearer to us than Louisville. and I think it likely that we will not have it here. The report of the board of health at Louisiana last week was from 15 to 20 deaths of Cholery per day since that time it has been decreasing this morning unclear it from 7 to 10 per day. at Cincinatti on yesterday 180 deaths 150 cholery at St Louis by telegraph on the 5th 187 deaths 156 of cholery at New Orleans the health verry much improved. we are verry anxious to hear from you and to no whether or not you are coming back to take charge of this accademy. I would say to you don't be afraid to come here for I verily believe that it is as healthy here as it is any where in the UnStates
