Mr John Rofs Cherokee Delegation Brown's Hotel. The President, with his respects, acknowledges the receipt of Mr Rofs's note of this day, & in reply unclear Mr Rofs, & the Cherokee Delegation, that he will be happy to see and converse freely with them on the subject of his note, and sets for that purpose at 12 oclock (meridian) on the 5th instant (Wednesday) Having an engagement with a delegation from N.Y. on tomorrow makes it [necessary?] to postpone the proposed one with the Delegation from the Cherokee until the 5th instant. February 3rd 1834.

The President with respect to Mr John Rofs and the Cherokee Delegation, acknowledges the receipt of Mr Rofs note of this day I will, with pleasure, see him with the Delegation at 12 oclock (M) on Monday next. February 13th 1834.
