plantation here. Reached the mouth of Red River just at sunset & I saw a little steamer passing up is just going out of sight as we come in. Their is a little stopping place their & their beautiful plantations owned by a wealthy widow, who a few years ago made herself notorious by having her face enamelled while in Paris, she being assured it would remain so for years.
