March 18th My dear Anna Mary has been “at me” every day since she wrote to [her—scratched out] you _ for me to write too but I really have not had any time. I learn or at least try to learn these lessons a week in French and entertain company about every day _ besides trying to fit Mary’s dresses I am sorry you are losing your piano practice You had better come back and stay awhile with us Mother says tell Anna that she remembers with much pleasure your stay with us and hopes to see you here again soon.
