Friday June 20th 1862 Again we have fine weather - I went down street to get Eva a pair of white kid slippers took Ada with me - Mrs F.M. Walker came to see me - also her sister Mrs Dr. J Adams Allen - children have gone to Tilly Spaulding party - Octave gone to a Hop at Judge Greens -
Saturday June 21st 1862 This weather is fine - we all keep in health - Hannah my sewing girl will leave tonight - I am through with her - she has been with me 8 weeks & 4 days She made children blue silk Bodices today - dancing school met at Mrs Goodridge after ten Octabe, Albert, Mr Badger and myself went and spent evening with Mrs Gurnee,s family - enjoyed ourselves much -
Sunday June 22nd 1862 Another glorious morning - I will attend church - all well - I also intend visiting home - we went to Father Badgers with all the children - it rained coming home - I went to hear Mr Thomas
Monday June 23rd 1862 Our Weather good today - we are all well - children invited tomorrow night to Lizzie Hoyne,s party -
Tuesday June 24 - A lovely day - Eva did not go to school - she has cold - Belle & Ada gone to Hoyne's party - a procession of coloured men passed our house - dressed as Masons - one of our companies went away to fight today - Mrs Gilman called to say goodbye - she is going with her family to New York - I went over to see Gurney's
Wednesday June 25th 1862 - Weather fine Eva still with cold - Florence Hilton came to spend day as it was her birthday - I went visiting called on Mrs Dudley Mrs Winston Mrs Arthur Buxley Mrs Young and Mrs Gray - took Sheridan in Carriage with me - Miss Flint called to see me also Mrs Dr Johnson, Mrs Dr Bryford & daughter Mrs Leonard - Sister L. Hilton & family also Ella too tea with us - Belle & Ada gone today Goodbye to Emily Gilman - she gave Belle her Photograph - Fannie Gurnee came to invite us to a party Friday night
Thursday June 26 A lovely day - Weather not very warm - last night Miss Walker next door to us had a grand serenade - Eva has croup this morning - this is my reception day - Ada gone to invite Mr & Mrs Thomas to Tea - they came so did Mr Bigelow we had a pleasant evening
Friday June 27 We have a bright hot day - I went with Mr Badger, John Hilton and all the children to see a splendid Steam Car - Mr Bigelow invited us - It is the CAr used by the Prince of Wales and other dignitaries - I got Miss Van Tyler my dress maker to fix my blue silk party dress - Mr Bigelow sent me two boxes of splendid strawberries - Mrs Van Arman and Miss Fannie called - we went to Mrs Gurnee,s party at nine Oclock, spent a delightful evening --- it poured rain all evening
Saturday June 28 - Another warm day - received a letter from home sayingthat Sister Belle,s young baby no three weeks old - was very ill - I am grieved to hear it. Mrs Gurnee & two daughters from terrace block called - also Mrs Daniel Thompson & Miss Ward -
