A.A.F. Diving Rules Fancy Diving

Special dives in which the contestant enters the water feet first will not be recognized. In the front jackknife, the contestant must enter the water within 6 feet of the diving board. All dives not specified as running or standing may be executed either from a run or stand and are considered as one and the same dive. The contestant making a dive will be marked both on his execution in the air and entry into the water. Extreme consideration should be given in marking a PER- FECT dive, because, although a performance may appear to be in perfect form, a subsequent performer may execute a better dive. If the competitor fails to do the dive elected he should be marked O.

FANCY DIVING INCLUDES:-Plain front dive, Plain back dive, Front jackknife, Back jackknife. For Senior Divi- sion four, for Secondary three, for Junior and women two, special dives to be other than the prescribed dives.

Special dives attempted that are not listed above will be scored according to the difficulties of the same.

ELIGIBILITY RULES. d. An athlete who has represented an organization within a year shall not be eligible to represent any other organization without securing a written transfer signed by a responsible official of the organization first represented. e. An athlete transferred shall not be eligible to compete in Federation championships until thirty says after his transfer has been accepted by the organization receiving him. f. An athlete transferred a second time shall not be eligible to compete in Federation championships until six months after his transfer has been accepted by the organization receiving him. THE SECONDARY DIVISION is open to any boy who has not yet reached his 18th birthday on day of meet. THE JUN- IOR DIVISION is open to any boy who has not yet reached his 16th birthday. Boys under 18 years of age may enter Senior division, but they may not then enter the Secondary division. Boys under 16 years of age may enter Secondary and Senior divisions but similarly they cannot enter in Junior div- vision. Relay races 440 and 880 are excepted.
