27th March Wednesday

    The ladies ride horseback here a great deal, going early in the morning before the sun is too hot, and returning for breakfast at 10 or 11 oclock, from eleven and four oclock it is very warm here, but the nights are always cool, so that we sleep comfortably under [?] or thin blankets.  This is the dry season, & the dust is very disagreeable. In June the rainy season begins lasting several weeks.  It then rains every day at four oclock
