Mr. Kendall,

Dear Sir, I have been anxiously anticipating for some weeks to hear (thro [[?? ??] of your present locality a residence of 3 months in this place has unabled me to answer your inquiries more satisfactorily than when I received your ??? of Sept. last. First as to numbers. There are at present 3 ??? schools each containing from 25 to 30 scholars ???. The terms vary from 6? to 15 ??? per ???, tho my terms are 7 1/2-10-12 1/2 [???]].

I commenced in October, after both the other schools had been some time in operation, and with but 8 scholars.  I have now 25 regular & 4 or 5 irregular scholars.  This too where I have declined to take some who wished to study Greek or were some what advanced in mathematics.
