March 29 1880 Dear Sister Abby I have only a moment left to tell you Ellen is dead I have written a few words to E & C am in Troy to give E power of attorney Ellen died Friday 26th am. was buried yesterday - I am very poorly - not so well today as yesterday for I went to the grave Do you want to have Mattie come & stay awhile If I get anything from Marys property perhaps I may go East if I live - No more now in haste Br Charles
