An Excellent Water (Tincture) for all old sores, ulcers and cankers and especially those that come of the French Pox (Syphilis). Choose 2 clean earthen pots that have not been used. Fill the 2 gallon one full of clean water and place over the fire. The other should be a 3 gallon one; for example, a clean chamber pot (Butler Pot). Fill the 3 gallon one a third or more full of lime (powdered limestone). When the water is boiling, add the lime from the 3 gallon pot to the water. Cover it and let it stand 24 hours. Then take the clearest of that water and put it into vials. Use it warmed to body temperature to wash the abovesaid sores. It is a savior.
Approved Remedies for Corns or hangnails: First file the corn very low, then apply the fat of a rabbit's kidney onto and wind a fine cloth about it. Remove the old dressing and repeat the treatment every night. At a few dressings it will be gone.
Another Treatment for Corns or hangnails: Mix the powder of burnt Allome (Allium - garlic, onion?) with red wax. File the corn down, then apply mixture.
To make a loose tooth fall out: Rub it with the gum of Ivy: but beware don't get it on any of the others.
