A Night Spell

When you use this spell, you must go about the soil, the tree, or ground that you would beset 3 times, saying the spell 3 times over with your belief and Paternoster.

In this place or tree or ground

you beset

to God the Father and the Son

all thieves for to left.

If any thief hither come any goods

away to felt,

The Holy Ghost be before them; and

do them for so felt. I bind them by the Sun, the moon, and by the stars of Heaven; and by the binding aforesaid and by the stars Seven. (?) I bind them by the virtue of the trinity, So that they shall not depart til I bid them. I bind you thieves, I do you no other harm (?) as did St. Bartholomew the devil, by the hair of his head so holy. I bind you thieves stand fast. In the name of the father, the son, and the Holy ghost. Amen. Credo in Deum. Paternoster, &c.

As you compass about the place, make a large circle or compass as you prayed, for they cannot get out of the circle. (Translated by April Hansen. 7/16/17)
