S.B. "unclear" St. Louis Saturday Evening Sept. 17, 1842.
My Dear Wife, It is one week this night, since I wrote you last. I would have written you before now, but have been daily looking for a letter from you, for the last part of this week, and am anxiously awaiting its arrival, but am not discouraged, as I very well know, you have not forgotten me, as I have not forgotten unclear, as I have not rec. any letter from you up to this time. I thought I would write you again, and trust you will unclear [unclear]] to hear from me. In dating my former letters I unclear that I made a mistake by writing August in stead of September but as I only missed if one month. I hope you will excuse me. We have been living on the "unclear" River Monday morning, and find it quite as pleasant, and much more convenient than boarding at the Plantus?. We were taken out on the day docks this evening, and will probably remain on until Tuesday morning.
