here that afternoon. Some of us said we would watch and see if they would give him a cheer or some other way to greet him, but to our surprise they never gave a cheere. The Band was playing so the Major was not greeted as I thought he would be. He sat on the bleachers and his pets went down to shak hands with him. I didn't get to speak to him but I am not sorry of it. I have nothing of interest to write about so I can't write but a short letter
