Weep for one who gave a tear to the suffering of others A smile to his own A man enterprizing without ambition Confident without arrogance Firm yet yeilding Silent yet eloquent Gay without levity Happy without exultation Conscious but not vain of power His faults were those of a child His virtues those of a Hero Wouldst thou ask where thou shall meet with such a man? Alas! Thou must seek his image in our Hearts His spirit in the skies Wouldst thou desire to hear his Epitaph? Learn it of all who know him Wouldst thou see his monument?
